Another blow to the PS3

Sony has just had another MAJOR MAJOR blow to there overpriced PS3 console...Final Fantasy XIII is getting released on the XBOX360 at the same time as the PS3.

It may be overpriced for a game box, but its the lowest costing Bluray disk player there is (Which is why I bought it)

And it plays my AVCHD SDHCs

And I can steam my anime to it

And I can play games of which I bought what I wanted: Gran Turismo and I'm waiting for Wipout. Beyond them, there are only a few games I really want to spend my ever dwindelling resource called free time, so waiting 2 months or 12 months makes no damn difference to me. I'll just pop in another bluray disk or stream my latest anime eps.

All from the comfort of my lazy-boy ('cept shoving the disk in the PS3) without having 20 miles of controller cable laying in front of me.

I gave up on FF since VII on the PSX. Don't have 80 hours of game time.

Hm, haven't seen this topic.

Well, it's really shame that PS is starting to loose (or, as a matter of fact - already lost) it's position on the market.

Yet, I would still buy it. Because... all the games I wanted to play were on PS2 (so yeah, I'm talking about the version which can run them).

And many cool games are still released on PS-only.

That and MGS4 would sum up my reaction as well.

...Although one could argue MGS4 is pretty much a very long movie with a few minigames between scenes.

Actually, you can install Ubuntu on the ps3. Just use the ps3 to dl it direct from Sony and have a blast.

Yeah but they shield the gfx core afaik.

That could be true, but if Ubuntu has an OpenGL driver for it........

BTW, now we can rent movies on the PS3

4 bucks for 14 days. Thats cheaper than Cablevision's Pay Per View (7-14 bucks for 24 hrs)
