On a good day, a Tomahawk can fly into the door of a two-car garage at the distance of several hundred miles. And that can ruin your whole day.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Well, I THINK I got the VPN working finally... took me, what... way too long? Well, the split-tunneled
version anyways. The fully tunneled version is encrypting everything as expected... but internet access
doesn't work.
I'll give it another go this weekend...
Tall and Cold, it's friday... almost
@Taurec
Normally I'd agree with ya, but my livelihood kinda depends on a functional one to actually get a paycheck...

Caught up with a friend I hadn't seen in awhile yesterday... did a (nearly) all day movie marathon
in the theaters of Despicable Me 2, Man of Steel and Pacific Rim. D**N, did we have fun! Too bad
my gluteus maximus was aching after all the sitting.
@Taurec
Not sure what you mean by Rei, Shinji was probably that Aussie-daddy's boy, only 1/2 a testicle more
than the NGE Shinji. Not sure how Mako Mori was Rei... at least rei didn't have some schoolgirl crush
5minutes after meeting her prospective copilot.
And too bad the tie-in game's crap. As a fully developed mech game, this had possibilities...
@CPOK
Glad ya got over okay... have a drink on the house. Blood? Napalm? Engine Oil? Or all three with alcohol
on the side?

The flight to EWR didn't kill me...and I do think I prefer EWR to JFK. Has a small airport feel to it and no one is hurrying around there. Nice pace there.

Oh wow... another returnee! Whiskey Bravo, comrade Zyrex!
And yes, see Pacific Rim! DOOOO IIIIIIT!!
They going to do more Sentinel than they did in the 3rd movie? All I saw one _1_ shot of it
in the danger room, then nothing. D**n, did I fee gyped!
My quick review of Elysium -- great scifi as a vehicle / window into (in)justices of society, et al., which made this very enjoyable for me.
I haven't seen a good pure scifi piece that makes one think / reflect that much on something like this.
I LOVED Jodie Foster and her "evil Queen Bee" / "whatever it takes" persona. IIRC she doesn't really do too many dark roles...
I also loved the big "f**k you politicos" spiel as well -- to paraphrase Foster / Delacourt "you think campaign slogans will keep these
people off the lawn you built for your children, and your children's children, think again."
My biggest pet peeves were the "suspension of disbelief" Blomkamp expects his audience to go through, some key ones
- firing MANPAD-size missiles from earth will somehow reach a space ship about to dock in 12minutes.
- aircraft that are equally at home in earth's atmosphere and in space.
- Elysium's (lack of) overall security. They're good a detection, bad at active measures...
- a CEO of a major defence contractor writes software himself?!
For us IT nerds - never mind, he compiles it into binary format, and yet while downloading the binary, SOMEhow after reading the
first few lines, Damon, et al somehow figure out what the binary does. DAFAQ?!?!?!
- never mind there's THAT big of a backdoor in Elysium's running systems a simple reboot is needed to either a) reelect a President, or b) add more citzens to Elysium. DAFAQ pt 2?!?!?!
- "variable time" with many events -- like Damon's surgery to add the exoskeleton, the time needed in a med-bed to heal serious injuries / conditions, and healing Kruger's face in 2minutes or less.
Don't know if I'd go for a 2nd showing, but definately one I'd want to get when it comes out on DVD / bluray.
Otherwise, EAGERLY awaiting Kick Ass 2 this friday!!
Too bad it's right after bidding ANOTHER longtime employee farewell again... FML
Speaking of FML, here's one I'm sure us IT jockeys can relate to -- http://www.fmylife.com/work/20834701

Going to watch Elysium soon, I heard it's the modern take on immigrant policy.
The Sentinels will play a big role in the 3rd Movie. (FIGHTS!!!)
Everybody knows data is still inside the Ethernet cables after you unplug them. ... How else would we be able to hotplug <g>
