fmp website- fan interact section

Post by Jae »

Well, there is a section I've been putting some thought into, but have yet to implement.

Basically, its for you guys- wallpapers (which are already up), other donated stuff- pretty much it can include whatever any fan wants to share with others. I'm willing to host it, or link to related sites in a special fan section.

So, if anyone has fanart/cosplay pics/fanfics/grapical goodies/ect that they need a host for, talk to me. Or, if you have it already hosted somewhere, and want a pointer to it from my site, same thing.

My goal is a non-judgemental place where people can share their works and expressions of FMP love (ugh, did I say that???)

I'll deal with possible restrictions on a case by case basis.
Of course, if there's no need or interest, the section will never happen, which is okay too.

Weezy has cosplay. *nods*

Um, doesn't need hosting though. She has a great big smelly cosplay site all of her very own. *nodnods*

Damn, that was helpful. *beats self over head*

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

Ahhh, you get guests at US cons. :D All I get are rampant fanboys (half of whom aren't as bad as they think they are), scary fangirls (yes, I'm scary too :P) and uhh... a big ol' hotel populated by terrified looking staff. :)

Well, cept for the lack o guests, that's pretty much the same as here- although some of our fanboys are as scary as the girls- and some of the girls aren't as bad as they think they are. Heh.

Guests can be good, when they're someone you care about, and the con is small enough to make acutally seeing them possible.

Oh, I did get to hear kanno perform live, twice :)
But other than seeing watase yuu twice, and ikuhara/saito/hasegawa(bepapas) a few times, I really haven't gone to cons for the guests.

I'd've liked to have gone to Otakon last year 'cos I found out Yasuhiro Nightow was a guest. But erm... it's *very* difficult to get £1000 at a week's notice. XD So no Otakon for me. Did get Nightow's autograph though, lovely friend over there got it for me. :)

Last year was the first otakon I've missed since I had started going
I also lost all of my autographs in a move

Oh well, one of my fave autos couldn't be lost- I asked shinya hasegawa to sign my arm (the one I draw with), and he did, with gold :):)
(at otakon the year before)
(SH= utena artist responsible for the more riske utena art- my fave fave, among many :)

*sigh*
I wish I could go back to otakon, but now Im stuck with the hugely monstrous AeXpo

More goodness about UK cons, none of them are overhuge (just had our largest con in history with 584 attendees :-D) and because we're such a tiny island and there are so few cons (two a year), I can go to each and every one of them. :D

It hath wandered OT, but that's okay.

hehe, 584 is pretty small, but small can be really good :)
You get to easily see or even participate in teh big events :)
At AX you have to wait in line early morn (get in it around 5am, wait til 7 or 8)- to get a ticket for each big event (including even music videos!)

Supposedly, if you have a ticket, you don't need to wait in line again, but people do anyway. I've stopped trying to go to big events- the biggest thing I did at AX was catch a couple of movie premires (like esca)- and the lines for those were an hour each.
I think to be in teh AX cosplay contest, you have to register before the convention now. And I think you're subject to a pre-judge before you get in.

Otakon was def. my fave big con.
Actually, Otakon is just about the right size- crowd and venue size.

Forget going to every domestic con!!! But I think that's a good thing, that we have so many.

Haha, long queues! :-D

Longest queue we get is for the dealer room. And it goes down pretty quickly and no one particularly minds waiting 'cos you can gossip and take photos and stuff. :)

Big events? Well, there might be a queue to get a seat for the masquerade, but I'm usually in the dealer room (turned green room) faffing about in costume and singing 'Labyrinth' songs with Folken cosplayers. :D
