OP and ED song translation...

Post by sj4iy »

I had a request, so here it is:

Mou Ichido Kimi ni Aitai
I want to see you again

Goodbye always comes suddenly, like a breeze
That day when you tried a little to be strong,
with tears rolling down your smiling face

I'm sure that you are once again
gazing straight ahead at tomorrow,
Just like the sunflower, which has bloomed on the hill,
Blowing in the wind

No matter how far apart we are
So that this singing voice will reach you
On the the nights when the tears won't stop
I want to become the moon that lights up your window

Because I believe
That we will surely meet again...

Your warm palm was wrapped around
my outstretched hand
I would never forget
Those sweet days

The reasons for meeting
And the reasons for parting
Right now I embrace them strongly in my heart
I believe
and I wish
That you reach your dreams someday

Ah, I want to see you
Once more...

Since the city looks so pretty after a shower of rain,
So must a person who has shed so many tears

We each have a place to go
And so that we may meet again in that place...

No matter how far apart we are
So that this singing voice will reach you
On the the nights when the tears won't stop
I want to become the moon that lights up your window

Because I believe
That we will surely meet again...

And here's the translation to the extra song on that same single.

Ano Hi ni Kaeritai
I want to go back to that day

Let's go back a little
and open the album
Our profiles, smiling in innocence,
and no worries at all...

I want to see you I'll run to you
I want to tell you In my loudest voice

I want to go back to that day
When there wasn't one frightening thing
The things that hurt us, the things that made us laugh,
I won't forget them, those memories

Being born under this star, meeting you
And dreaming of tomorrow,
The same time has passed for both of us
We'll never change, ever.

I believed, that any wish
Could come true...

The Japanese write some beautifully poetic songs, don't they? And FMP has a great soundtrack. Thanks, Brandi. I'm really enjoying these.

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

And here's the OP song translation

Minimikaze
Southern Wind

It's the unknown frontier off the map outlined by the heart
If you open the door
You'll find the road continues on and on

It's a Utopia that you don't have to rely on only yourself to try and reach
If you just dream it, go looking for it no matter what

Kick up the dust as you head towards your town
Along a route where the sky and earth meet

Ride the rushing southern wind, cutting through the blue-dyed breeze
Run with your whole heart

Overtake the noonday moon, heading to a different world from yesterday
Run whereever you wish, just like that wind (*1)

Ideas, which are full of the hope awakened by time
If you spin them in a song, you'll throw away the decorations, too

If the lights are dancing around, your heart will jump
With a speed that melts away the clouds and greenery

Pursuing the wavering backs of those in front of you (*2), never running away again
Without any answers at all

The fragrant summer flowers blooming, the future finally pouring in
So that I can finally meet your new smiling face

Wipe the sweat running down your body, quench your parched throat,
Shake off any hesitation and take off

Ride the rushing southern wind, cutting through the blue-dyed breeze
Run with your whole heart

Overtake the noonday moon, heading to a different world from yesterday
Run whereever you wish, just like that wind
Just like that wind

----

Notes:
1. Dokomade mo literally means "whereever", but I read a little bit into it to be a little more poetic :)
2. Ushirokage literally means "the back of running figures", so I tried to put it in in a way where it makes sense

Enjoy ^^

*sniggers at Goose and Weltall*

P.S. Sorry to be such an ass, Brandi, but it's Minami Kaze, not Mini-Me. No worries, no worries.
