Well, we don't know the status of the ARX-8 (the RX-8 is a Mazda ) besides that Kalinin has apparently scuttled it. Sousuke is definitely going to get something new, but how soon is another matter.

Hmm, let me think. Sousuke... I think, with a crapload of luck, he could pull off a win with the M6A3 against Venoms/Codarl-Ms. (He's supposed to have mad skillz with Arm Slaves, but that only takes you so far.) The SRT's M9s could hold their own if the Venoms don't have Lambda Drivers. (I have a theory that Lambda Driver-equipped ASes are only given to the elite, but who can say who the guards are?)

Random speculation: The stereotypical way this would play out would involve the SRT storming the mansion, Leonard getting into the Belial and about to thrash them, then Kalinin finally revealing his true allegiances and taking a fatal blow with Support Defence while Sousuke scrambles to get the hidden ARX-8. In the end, Leonard flees with Kaname, while Sousuke gets his new Arm Slave and continues the hunt. The scene is then set to shift to our enigmatic Mr. Gold, while the SRT prepares for the final assault on Amalgam's main stronghold, which is obviously not a swanky condominium in Mexico.

But who can say for sure?

Therefore, how the hell is he gonna have a showdown with Leonard's Belial, when he couldn't even defeat Leonard when he was in the Arbalest?

He's taking on /defeated? 3 Codarl-M's (Venoms) piloting that M6A3, I assume his motivation got a little higher.. Or the good old Cliche that what didn't kill him, made him stronger.

You are refering to the same thing. Tsuzuku on my own IS "Continuing on my own" (COMO). After that book is Burning One Man Force (BOMF) then Tsudou Make My Day (TMMD) which the current discussion is about. Boku-tachi has indeed translated COMO, but although they intend on continuing with BOMF, it is still listed as a future project. We only know of these novels that have not been translated through the few people who have read them and have shared brief summaries. Which thereby leads to these topics where endless speculatation and consistent spoilering of the novels inevitably ensues.

Back on topic, have we seen references to, or have M6A3s been used in past novels of FMP, because I can't recall reading about that model. Is this new to the TMMD novel, or am I just not paying enough attention? It's not my fault, the plot has been so fast-paced, I find myself reading quickly and probably skipping over details.

M6 Bushnell
The AS used by most of the Free Countries in the West is the M6 Bushnell produced in North America.
The major conflict that the Bushnell saw was in 1991 during the Gulf War, although due to sand the Bushnell's performance was rather sub-par.
The Bushnell's most wide use didn't occur until the Fifth Mideast War when AS was pitted against AS [in this case an Rk-92].

M6A3 "Dark Bushnell" - The M6A3 is mainly used for special operations missions. Additions to the design are the inclusion of composite armor to the hip area and the addition of twin 12.7mm anti-personnel machine-guns mounted in the "cheeks" of the AS.
Other items include the addition of modular armor on the rear hip area with hard-points for weaponry.
The power output has been increased by 25%. Due to upgrades to Vetronics and software piloting response type is up by 17-18%.
This AS is mainly used by US Army and Navy Special Forces so most of the information is classified and the data presented here may not be accurate.
Engine System - Gas Turbine, Electrical Generator.

M6 Bushnell Type 96 - This model is used in Japan with the major differences being the addition of armor plates the chest and legs, another feature is the low profile exhaust ports designed to thwart IR-guided missiles.
Other features include retainer catches on the arms to allow for air transport by helicopter, the vetronics were also changed out with supposedly superior equipment developed in Japan.
Armor - Tungsten And Ceramic Compound With Aluminum Base.

Weapons Systems -
All - Unknown Type And Model Of Assault Rifle.
M6A3 - Twin 12.7mm Chain Guns.
Type 96 - Some Models Fitted With 35mm Machine Gun.

Let's see... I think we all guessed that Leonard was going to flee, although we'll have to make do with Venoms for a showdown... What? 3 BEHEMOTHS? If the whole of Merida Island was devastated with 3 Behemoths, Kalinin's going to have to pull Sousuke's ARX-8 out of his ass if they're going to survive... unless Tessa can ram all 3 with the TDD-1.

And it's confirmed that Leonard goes into angst mode, which might score points with the ladies if the mood is right. "Sympathy for the Devil", anyone?

Yeah, found this link from Animesuki too. Has a Chinese translation of the latest chapter. If anyone reads the language, you can try - I'm trying to get a slightly more detailed translation, but my Chinese has gone to absolute crap these days.

Interesting stuff that HunterSeeker didn't mention in his Animesuki post:

1.) Those Codarls have Lambda Drivers. And the Uruz trio took one out, so the end of the chapter has it as 2 M9s + 1 M6 versus 2 LD-equipped Codarls. Not sure where the Behemoths are referenced...

2.) Leonard actually communicates his flashback to Kaname via what seems to be Whispered resonance. (Yes, that device is back with a vengeance!) After that, of course, Kaname complains that everybody's had their share of tragedy, herself and Sousuke included, and that it didn't account for Leonard's personality (described as, pardon the translation, "playing around with their fates in his hands and smiling".) Oh, and Leonard's current philosophy is that people are filth (no surprise there), and Kaname, having experienced the feeling, wants to retch.

And if anyone was wondering, Papa and Momma Testarossa are named Carl and Maria respectively. And Papa Testarossa died in the attack.

it's a very dark chapter until the trio gets revived

leonard's personality is due to him being more mature than his age (way more...) and found out that his mom cheats on his dad while his dad is out far away serving his country... so leonard calls her a whore (btw the "whore" in japanese means something a lot more harsh than in english nowadays so it leads people to think she's not just cheating with only one man...) and she hates him for it... therefore when the terrorists (not sure if it's Amalgem) came to their house, killed his dad and asked his mom where the kids are, his mom gave him up to try to save tessa who she hid away

maria: "please, take this boy, his sister is not here, she's visiting a relative"

leonard (to kaname): "can you imagine the horror of your own mother giving you up to the wolf? sure, if i tell other people simply by words what happened, they will never understand and just tell me that these things happen to others too, but (by passing the visions to you as a whispered) you've seen what i've seen, you've felt what i've felt, they were my experiences, and they are now your experiences too"

and kaname's attitude (resistance, disgust, etc etc) toward leonard changed drastically after that... yah...

the story of the terrorists killing leonard and tessa's parents was told in an "extra" short story (i believe was the "birth of Tuatha de Dannan"?) and in that story maria testarosa was seen as what could only be described as a goddess saint... so her image got totally destroyed (or realized? god damn gatou have to make everyone as such real human beings!) and everyone who's read that story before are simply in shock and disbelief

but this is a spoiler thread, i'm not sparing you guys :p

oh and they didn't take out any codarls yet, so it'll still be a 3 vs 3 at the start of the next chapter

there's also some interesting monolog sousuke got going on as he approached the mansion, "what if she's in that man's arms? what if she appears troubled when i show up.. what if she says 'don't come here again'?" shows he's really no longer the insensitive bastard any more and is just a shy teenager boy in love now

not sure where the animesuki guy get his info, but there's no behemoths mentioned anywhere in the chapter

edit: wow i'm surprised even english readers know that site, it's the translator i've mentioned to bandi in chat before, the girl who didn't even know japanese and started learning cuz she loved the story, and she tries her hardest to translate for the others (her name is "xiao dao" and her HP is titled "xiao dao's hard work room!"), that is, every single new chapter as soon as it's released in japan and as many short stories as she could spare with her free time, because many other chinese translators who know japanese very well gave up (personal life interfering etc) and she gets a LOT of respect in the chinese speaking FMP fans community and her translation are getting really good too because 1. her japanese is getting better and 2. she's getting a lot of help from willing people who either translated before her but gave up due to varies reasons or people living in japan who's read the original also.. so yah, since you guys are taking info off her site i just wanna give her more credit for the people who wouldn't know cuz it's chinese lol

And I didn't know the backstory behind the translator's work, but it's an incredible job. Yeah, completely forgot to give credit this time. *decapitates self* If possible, help me send regards - that's an impressive body of work there.

oh yah you are right, they took out one when mao and kreuz surprise attacked behind one

and yah i do get most of the story off of that chinese site, i do have the japanese original though cuz i just wanna get the thing as soon as i can (i have my cousin send me the new magazine from japan every month cuz i find it at least a week faster than if i get it from amazon japan or somewhere) but my japanese is pretty half-assed and i don't have time to really study it, so i check her site daily for translations XD

and yah i will help send regards, i just told her in a forum reply that her work is recognized by english speaking fans too, i'm sure she'll be happy to know

and more on her work, if you look at other chapters she's translated you'll notice there's a bunch of encyclopidia work after each chapter too, like if the chapter talks about some place that most chinese readers wouldn't know about she'd point it out on a map and kinda describe the local scene/culture/etc, and for the weapons and transportations that's actually from the real world she'd also put up pictures of the guns and vehicles etc and tell us about it... yah she's pretty fanatic XD
